Scuba Adventures has been a proud member of the Plano community since 1991. In late 2019, three passionate scuba divers, instructors and divemasters, Brett, Chris, and Scott, combined their love for scuba diving and growing the next generation of divers with their corporate executive skill-sets in order to provide a professionally run dive shop dedicated to activating the adventurer in each of us!

Try Out Scuba Diving

The underwater world is magical and breathing underwater is exhilarating. We believe everyone will love it once they try! That’s why we offer a Scuba Discovery course that allows those who are not certified yet to get a sneak peek into the adventure of scuba diving!

You can experience scuba diving in the comfort of our heated, 18-foot pool with one of our awesome instructors, right here in Plano!

Get Your Scuba Certification in Plano, TX

For those ready to become a scuba diver there’s the Open Water Certification. In this Plano scuba certification you’ll learn everything you need for open water scuba diving and be able to dive anywhere in the world, up to 60 ft with a buddy! We even offer a completely FREE Nitrox course with all of our open water course. The Nitrox certification allows you to breathe higher percentages of oxygen, meaning you can stay underwater for longer! But we’ll get into the science of it in your scuba lessons.

This is a popular choice for those going on vacations to Florida, Mexico, Grand Cayman or any other tropical destination. You’ll be blown away by the life and color underwater.

Freshen Up Your Scuba Skills

For current scuba divers in North Texas, we know that there can be a long period of time between your dive trips, that’s why we offer a Scuba Refresher. This course allows you to brush up on your skills before jumping back in.

But the adventure doesn’t stop there! Advanced Adventure and Rescue Diver scuba certifications are available for those who want more knowledge and skills for their underwater endeavors.

Our Advanced Adventure course gives divers a taste of five specialty courses and certifies divers to dive up to 100 ft deep! The navigation and deep dives are required but students can choose between night diving, buoyancy, search and recovery, boat diving, drift diver and more for their other three dives to complete their training.

The Rescue Diver course is a favorite among the diving community. It trains you to be prepared in the unlikely event of a scuba emergency, whether it’s yourself, your buddy, your family member or another diver on your trip. Understanding diving safety and rescue techniques is a important step in your diver training and is a stepping stone to become a Master Scuba Diver or Divemaster.

Specialty Courses

Scuba Adventures is committed to enhancing your dive experience, so we offer a variety of specialty courses that will help you become a safer diver and expand your horizons.

Our Advanced Buoyancy course aims to teach you to have greater control underwater which will enhance your dive enjoyment and help leave the underwater environment as we found it.

The Boat Diver, Deep Diver, and Altitude Diver courses offer more in-depth training so you can be prepared for whatever dive adventure you can imagine.

The city of Plano is a suburban city located north of Dallas. As of the 2010 census, the city had over 250,000 residents, and was hailed by Forbes in 2011 as the safest city in America.

Out of 250,000 people, there’s bound to be some people itching for adventure. They might get their adventure fix by exploring Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, by riding the wildest rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Texas, by diving into the Texas shaped pool or by going on a kayak ride at Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve. But you’ve never seen adventure in Plano until you’ve been on a scuba adventure.

I can’t recommend this place enough. After moving to the area, I read a lot of reviews and emailed several dive shops before going with Scuba Adventures. I choose them because they were the most responsive and helpful. The owners seem to not only be great divers but have business backgrounds. This is the most focus on customer service I have seen in a dive shop. Good inventory with all of the brands I could ask for. On point with their pricing. If you do find a better price they will work with you.

I ended up taking the Rescue Diver course and had a blast! I just got back from a dive trip with them at Lake Travis, very enjoyable. They also have one of the only indoor pools (18 ft.) in the area.

At Scuba ranch they have a big spot that is one of the easiest to get to and a nice pavilion for training. They are right next to the air refill station, which I love! Family and friends are welcome at the ranch. Good community there on weekends and you'll most likely find a dive buddy for a fun dive.

Scuba Adventures and their staff are beyond amazing! Their Plano store has a very wide selection of equipment and the pool is 18ft deep! Their Scuba Ranch location is amazing and still growing, with plenty of room and seating. I’m a fairly new diver and all the instructors do an amazing job of making me feel safe and secure deep underwater. Their staff is always very helpful and I can’t wait to continue my diving knowledge and certificates with them.

The new owners are the greatest! Their positive approach towards people and the sport of diving are huge part of the reason I love the sport. Decided to revisit this shop since it is under new management. Already impressed with the facility improvements - by far the best training pool I have seen. This is the shop with the most experienced and competent personnel in the metroplex. Their commitment to safe, enjoyable and professional instruction is obvious from the first time you enter the store and meet the staff and owners. In January 2020, Scuba Adventures was purchased by divers that were affiliated with a different scuba store. These same divers taught me to dive, and got me to fall in love with scuba diving (despite me being pretty scared to start). I trust them, enough that I opted to take a trip with them to Cozumel for diving in 2019. It was one of the best trips of my life, and now I'm already signed up for their Costa Rica dive trip in 2020 with Scuba Adventures. I haven't visited the shop yet, but I can 100% vouch for the new owners--they are knowledgeable divers, good people, and all around amazing.

Great customer service, from the owners to the employees. Very knowledgeable about everything and anything pertaining to scuba diving. The instructors are highly educated and experienced in scuba diving. They put you through real life scenarios, so you know and understand what to do in the event something happens while you are under water. My family and I learned a lot about scuba diving in a very short amount of time. We will definitely keep taking additional courses with Scuba Adventures as we progress. We definitely reccomend Scuba Adventures to anyone wanting to learn and get scuba diving certified.
